Global production rises in January despite China dip

Crude steel production for the 64 countries reporting to the World Steel Association (worldsteel) grew 0.8% on-year in January to 139.4 million tonnes. Estimated output in China fell -0.9% last month to 67mt. Japanese and Indian production, though, rose 0.3% and 2.5% respectively each to an estimated 9.03mt.
