August pig iron output declines on China cuts
Global pig iron output declined slightly in August, for the third consecutive month, as both Asia and the CIS reduced output, Kallanish notes.
Total pig iron volume produced in August slipped 1.2% on-month and 3.8% on-year to 110.4 million tonnes, while eight-month output of 911.9mt remained higher on-year, by 4.8%.
