Global pig iron output declines in September
Global pig iron output continued to decline in September for the fourth consecutive month as China's drive to reduce production reflected more notably in global output volume, while all major producing regions also reduced output, data by worldsteel shows.
Total global pig iron output in September reached 102.5 million tonnes, down 7% on-month and 7.9% on-year, with nine-month output up 3.4% on-year at 1.01 billion tonnes, Kallanish notes.
