Global DRI production falls significantly on LatAm slump
Global production of direct reduced iron (DRI) during the first ten months of the year was down by some -14% year-on-year according to figures published by World Steel Association (worldsteel).
During the year Iran has become the main producer globally, overtaking India. The country alone produced almost 1.5 million tonnes of DRI in October, while Indian monthly production this year never surpassed the 1.3mt mark.
