Global crude steel production falls again in January
The World Steel Association (worldsteel) says that global crude steel output was 128 million tonnes in January 2016, a -7.1% decrease compared to January 2015, Kallanish notes.
China produced 63.2mt in the month, a decrease of -7.8% on January 2015. This is still 49.4% of world output but looks like it signals another hard year for the world’s largest steelmaking country by far.
