Global crude steel output rises on-year in February
The World Steel Association (worldsteel) says that global crude steel output from its 67 reporting countries was 126.6 million tonnes in February 2017, up 4.1% year-on-year, Kallanish notes. The increase was achieved in spite of the fact that there were 29 days in February in 2016, the association says.
China produced 61.2mt in the month, an increase of 4.6% on February 2016 and 48.3% of the world’s crude steel output.
