Global crude steel output rises on China surge

The World Steel Association (worldsteel) says that global crude steel output from its 64 reporting countries was 137.3 million tonnes in February 2019, up by 4.1% year-on-year, Kallanish notes. China produced 71.0mt in the month, a firm increase of 9.2% on February 2018 and still over half of the world’s crude steel output.
