Global crude steel output rises again in September
The World Steel Association (worldsteel) says that global crude steel output from its 66 reporting countries was 132.9 million tonnes in September 2016, up 2.0% year-on-year, Kallanish notes.
In the first nine months of the year Asia produced 825.9mt of crude steel, an increase of 0.6% over the first three quarters of 2015. The EU conversely produced -4.8% less crude steel on the same comparison at 121.3mt.
