Global crude steel output continues to rise
The World Steel Association (worldsteel) says that global crude steel output from its 64 reporting countries was 151.7 million tonnes in August 2018, up 2.6% year-on-year, Kallanish notes.
China produced 80.3mt in the month, an increase of 2.7% on August 2017 and clearly again well over half of the world’s crude steel output.
