Glencore lowers ferrochrome production guidance
Glencore has revised down its guidance for 2019 ferrochrome production to 1.48 million tonnes from 1.64mt after the first quarter due to the continuation of the extended winter shutdown programme.
The firm reported -2% on-year less ferrochrome output in the first half of 2019 at 799,000t. Import charge chrome 50% Cr prices fell to $81/lb cif Shanghai from $96/t in H1 2018.
