Glencore adds millions of tonnes extra coal capacity

Glencore has said it will resume operation of its Australian Integra coal mining operation in early 2017. That comes shortly after it said it would resume mining at Collinsville bringing a total of 7.3 million tonnes/year of mining capacity back on line, Kallanish notes. Integra can operate at around 1.3m t/y, although it has licences to expand this to 4.5m t/y. The mine had been put on maintenance in July 2014 but is the latest restart fuelled by surging prices…
