GFG’s Australian battery to get state loan
SIMEC Zen Energy, part of GFG Alliance, is to get an AUD 10 million ($7.79m) loan from the South Australian government to build a large battery storage plant in the state. The project is part of plans to stabilise the region’s electricity supply, lowering both cost and risk for GFG’s Australian steelmaking operations, Kallanish notes.
