Germany’s scrap exports increase significantly
Germany’s ferrous scrap exports increased in January, according to data from the German federal statistics office.
Exports totalled 632,000 tonnes, up 16% year-on-year, Kallanish notes. The value was €314 million ($338 million), compared with the previous year's value in January of €267 million.
Shipments to Belgium have increased the most, followed by significant increases in scrap export volumes to Finland, Italy and Austria.
