German steel workers start token strikes
Steel workers in North-Rhine Westphalia (NRW) started token strikes on Monday as a result of the failure to reach an agreement in last Friday’s wage negotiation round.
Token strikes have so far occurred only at thyssenkrupp Steel’s processing operations in Dortmund, Kallanish learns from union IG Metall. The current negotiations cover NRW, Lower Saxony, and Bremen, meaning labour action at ArcelorMittal and Salzgitter might follow. In December I…
