German scrap prices fall amid low demand, exports
German scrap prices have decreased so far in March due to weak demand from domestic steel mills and small export volumes, say local market participants. Sources do not expect changes in the market by the end of the month amid low activity.
A scrap collector form Bavaria tells Kallanish: “There is again a wait-and-see attitude from most steel plants.”
Prices have fallen so far this month by €10-25/tonne ($11-27), depending on grade, sources say.
