German scrap market foresees limited price correction
Following huge price increases in December and January, most suppliers in the German scrap market are expecting that February prices will slightly decrease due to full stocks in Turkey and most European countries.
Compared to December, ferrous scrap prices this month have skyrocketed by €70-90/tonne ($109) on-month in most cases. Depending on the mill and the baseline, the mark-ups at times even reached triple-digit territory with peaks of €100/t.
