German scrap exports dip slightly in 2019
Germany remained a net exporter of scrap in 2019, although deliveries dipped by -3.6% to a total of 8.46 million tonnes, according to recycling organisation BVSE.
Deliveries within the EU, which makes up the lion’s share, fell by -4.2%, while those to other countries remained virtually stable. This is especially due to deliveries to India, Pakistan and Bangladesh, which together purchased around 82,000 tonnes more than in 2018. Market sources had sugge…
