German mills reject union’s claim for wage increase
The management at Germany’s steel mills has signalled a rejection of the wage increase claim brought forward by trade union IG Metall for the upcoming round of salary negotiations.
IG Metall union has decided to enter negotiations with a claim of 6% wage increase with some extras (see Kallanish passim). It is also asking for holiday pay of €1,800 ($2,073), or the equivalent in time off.
