German car production downtrend stabilises, e-cars outlook weaker
German passenger car production in the first half of the year came to 2.1 million units, 6% less than in the corresponding 2023 period, Kallanish learns from automotive federation VDA.
Despite the decline, the figure marks a slight recovery from the first quarter, which saw output drop 9% on-year to 1m vehicles. In March alone, output slumped 15% on-year, while in June alone it fell 9% on-year.
