Gerdau to restart blast furnace in Ouro Branco
Brazilian steelmaker Gerdau is expected to resume production at its blast furnace No.2 in Ouro Branco at the beginning of July, according to local media reports monitored by Kallanish.
The steelmaker’s electric arc furnaces in Brazil restarted operations during April. However, BF2 has remained halted since then due to weaker demand from the industrial and construction sectors as a result of the spread of Covid-19 in the country.
