Gerdau Metaldom extends use of renewable energy
Central American long steel producer Gerdau Metaldom will significantly increase the use of renewable energy in its production chain in the Dominican Republic, Kallanish notes.
The steelmaker says it is transforming its energy matrix with the building of a new solar park at the Duarte Industrial Park in Santo Domingo. The investment includes 3,336 modules valued at $1.1 million. The contract has been awarded to French company TotalEnergies.
