Gerdau Corsa bags financial support for scrap imports
Gerdau’s Mexican long steel unit Gerdau Corsa says it has secured funding from BBVA to potentially expand scrap imports. The financing of $60 million, via an import letter of credit, will also be used to increase efficiency in steelmaking processes and comply with the sustainability agenda, Kallanish notes.
