Gerdau certifies iron ore reserves for 40 years

Brazilian steelmaker Gerdau says it has completed the new certification of its mineral reserves at the Miguel Burnier iron ore open-pit mine in Minas Gerais, Kallanish notes. According to the independent certifier SRK Consulting’s report, the company’s reserves are at 476 million tonnes, guaranteeing production with 65% Fe content for 40 years.
