Gengyang commissions China's largest needle coke plant
Shanxi Gengyang Group has commissioned China’s largest needle coke plant through its subsidiary Taiyuan Shenghong Carbon Material Company.
The plant has a capacity of 150,000 tonnes/year of needle coke, which is used as feedstock for graphite electrode manufacturing, Kallanish learns. It can also produce 600,000 t/y of tar.
