GCC mills foresee billet demand increase from Europe
Gulf Cooperation Council integrated mills expect demand to increase from Europe and the UK for semi-finished products, following European energy price hikes.
Mills in Oman, United Arab Emirates and Bahrain increased their billet target prices by $15-20/tonne on-week for GCC enquiries from wire rod and rebar re-rollers. This week, integrated GCC mills are targeting $530-550/t fob, Kallanish notes.
