Turkish scrap import market expects further price decline
Pressure is increasing on Turkish imported scrap prices, while the number of offers grew significantly last week.
Numerous scrap suppliers from all regions are active in the market. Turkish mills, assured of availability, are therefore taking their purchases slow.
Some offers from the Baltic, including Russia, are seen at $480-481/tonne cfr Turkey, while European suppliers are targeting $475-480/t cfr levels.
