French scrap to fall significantly
French mills are proposing their scrap suppliers a price reduction of €40-50/tonne ($48-60) in February. Contracts for the month will be agreed this week, with negotiations ongoing. A similar decline is happening in other European markets, such as Germany, Spain and Italy, where mills are offering a €40-50/t discount, market participants tell Kallanish.
