Slow demand undermines French rebar price increases

French rebar demand is said to be sluggish, with prices stable on January due to uncertainty and low visibility that is causing apparent demand to grind to a halt. Domestic contracts are now at €520-530/tonne ($586-598) base ex-works. Considering €260-270/t on average for size extras, effective values are hovering at €780-790/t ex-works.
