French rebar prices hike on increasing scrap
French rebar asking prices are being pushed up by €50/tonne ($60) by both producers and distributors, sources tell Kallanish.
Domestic demand has recovered after being subdued by last month’s lockdown, and is said to be strong, particularly for high-added-value long products. As Italian and Spanish producers are also increasing their prices, no cheaper imported rebar is offered to French buyers, distributors say.
