French merchant bar demand, prices remain low
French merchant bar prices are stable compared to December in a difficult market, distributors in the country tell Kallanish.
Demand remains extremely low and buyers often prefer to purchase cheaper imported material form other European countries. Domestic values are now at €90/t base delivered or €70/t base ex-works. The transaction price for local material including size extras is €500-510/t ($551-562) delivered, sources agree.
