French, Benelux scrap seen ticking higher
French and Benelux scrap prices are seen ticking up this month by €10/tonne ($10.8) in line with strong international increases. Local mills however will be implementing longer maintenance stoppages this month to balance demand and supply. Demand for December is poor. Some steelmakers are looking to buy very small tonnages, while others will reduce their purchases, Kallanish hears from market sources.
