French, Benelux scrap prices may decline again
French and Benelux scrap prices may continue to decline next month, driven by poor finished steel markets performance, particularly long products, for which demand has remained sluggish in May.
Long steelmakers are implementing production stoppages to balance demand and supply. At the same time, however, high-quality scrap availably continues to be limited, unlike low-quality grades such as E1 and E3, which are available, sources tell Kallanish.
