Fortescue's Iron Bridge commences high-grade magnetite production
Australian iron ore producer Fortescue Metals Group has successfully made the first magnetite product from its Iron Bridge mine. The first run grade was greater than 68% Fe, Kallanish notes.
The wet concentrate has now been transported through the 135km specialist slurry pipeline to where dewatering and materials handling occurs at Port Hedland to finish off a high-grade magnetite product, ready to be shipped, and suitable for steelmaking.
