Ford to move small vehicle production to Mexico
Major US auto producer Ford plans to move all of its North American small vehicle production to Mexico in the next two to three years, Kallanish learns from an investor conference held by the company in Dearborn, Michigan.
The company invested $1.6 billion to build a new Mexican auto facility in April, with the stated goal of beginning production of small vehicles by 2018. The company’s full-size sedan line will still primarily be manufactured in the US.
