Firm outlook pushes up Chinese rod export prices
Chinese wire rod export offer prices have increased further this week, causing export transactions to stall again, Kallanish notes.
On Thursday, 6.5mm diameter mesh-grade wire rod was assessed at $485/tonne fob China, up by $5/t week-on-week.
Northern China mills report alloy-added wire rod export offers jumped to $490-495/t fob China by Wednesday, up by $10-15/t on-week. Some trading firms were even quoting wire rod at $500/t fob China for exports.&nbs…
