Fiji promotes local steel production, scrap recycling
Fiji-based Dayals Steels has begun recycling scrap steel locally and is looking forward to mining local iron ore for use in steelmaking. The company's purpose is to produce locally made steel in Fiji, Kallanish notes.
According to local media The Fiji Times, Dayals Steels has moved into recycling end-of-life vehicles into steel. More than 1,000 units of vehicles have been melted and over 12,000 tonnes of steel have been recycled.
