Ferrous futures remain weak despite financing boom
On Tuesday, Chinese rebar and hot rolled coil futures closed higher due to a low base after recent continuous declines. The average intraday trading prices were still lower than the prior day, Kallanish notes.
On the Shanghai Futures Exchange, the most-traded October 2023 rebar contract closed CNY 30/tonne higher than Monday at CNY 3,937/t ($572/t), and the same contract for HRC gained CNY 26/t to CNY 4,029/t.
