Ferrous futures remain weak at four-year lows
Chinese rebar and hot rolled coil futures diverged amid severe fluctuations on Thursday, after touching over four-year lows on the prior day, Kallanish notes.
On the Shanghai Futures Exchange, the most-traded October 2024 rebar contract closed at CNY 3,119/tonne ($436/t) on Thursday, up CNY 20/t from the prior trading day. The same contract for HRC however, lost CNY 24/t to CNY 3,222/t.
