Ferrous futures remain volatile in quiet market
Chinese rebar and hot rolled coil futures on Wednesday rebounded slowly after Tuesday’s losses. Prices have remained volatile for almost a fortnight as spot demand showed no improvements, Kallanish notes.
On the Shanghai Futures Exchange, the most-traded October 2023 rebar contract closed CNY 75/tonne higher than Tuesday at CNY 3,715/t ($531/t), while the same contract for HRC gained CNY 67/t to CNY 3,775/t.
