Ferrous futures drop as bulls flee
Chinese rebar and hot rolled coil basically through most of Thursday, but slumped before the transaction on the Shanghai Futures Exchange stopped as the bulls ran away, Kallanish notes.
On the Shanghai Futures Exchange, the most-traded October 2023 rebar contract ended Thursday at CNY 3,688/tonne ($507/t), down CNY 35/t on the prior day. The same contract for HRC lost CNY 53/t to CNY 3,884/t.
