Fatal accident occurs during Jiujiang plant maintenance
Jiujiang Steel Plant in south-eastern China’s Jiangxi province saw scaffolding at a desulfurisation tower collapse during maintenance on a sinter plant at 2:40am on Friday morning. 20 people were injured, of which two workers later died, according to CCTV.
The local government has announced that all injured workers were removed immediately to hospital after the accident, and the remaining 18 survivors are in a stable condition.
