Fangda Special halts blast furnace after explosion
On the afternoon of 29 May, a gas explosion occurred in a gas pipeline at the No.2 blast furnace at China’s Fangda Special Steel. Repairs will take around 20 days, with an estimated impact on iron production of 70,000-80,000 tonnes in total, Kallanish notes.
