Export ban to hit Indonesia's nickel ore output
The Indonesian Nickel Mining Association (APNI) predicts it will see domestic nickel ore production reach 25 million wet metric tons in 2020, down by -52% from last year. The reason for this decline is that Indonesia has begun to implement a nickel ore export ban in 2020, and low domestic sales prices have failed to encourage production by local miners, Kallanish notes.
