Export slump drags down AMSA first-quarter shipments
ArcelorMittal South Africa (AMSA) posted a -10.1% on-year drop in sales in the first quarter to 1.05 million tonnes, Kallanish notes. This was driven by a -23.1% drop in exports to 253,000t due to a high base effect and more cautious seaborne market following the price declines of Q4 2018.
