European stainless tube prices slide
Stainless steel tube prices are sliding in Europe due to lower alloy surcharges and low demand, particularly from distributors. Prices have lost €150/tonne ($175.7/t) since the beginning of August, a large re-roller tells Kallanish.
Demand is also particularly low due to the fall in nickel prices which is causing stainless steel players in Europe to be pessimistic for market prospects, sources say.
