European stainless coil market quietens further
European stainless steel flat demand continues to stall this month. Despite steelmakers’ attempts to increase hot and cold rolled coil prices, values for January delivery remain mostly stable on-month as the current economic downturn in Europe is not supporting higher prices.
Some demand is forecast to pick up in January as buyers will have to replenish their stocks, but coil sellers and buyers forecast low margins, if not negative, with average sales volume…
