European scrap suppliers back-off amid higher costs
European scrap suppliers' costs continue rising amid stronger euro and higher dock prices. While euro/dollar parity increases to 1.17 on July 27, dock prices rose further in the Benelüx region. Most exporters, consequently, prefer to wait rather than buying scrap at a price level which is unlikely to find acceptance in export markets.
