Europe drives Turkey's October HR flats import rise
Turkey's hot-rolled (HR) flat steel imports grew 35.4% on-year in October as increased procurement from Europe and Brazil more than offset the CIS-origin imports drop, Kallanish notes from the latest Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK) data.
October's HR flats imports came in at 541,220 tonnes, according to calculations made using TUIK data. Their overall average value/tonne increased to $610/t from $506/t a year earlier.
