Europe drives Turkey's November scrap import growth
Turkish scrap imports soared 45.5% year-on-year to 1.9 million tonnes in November on the back of a surge in sourcing from Europe, Kallanish notes from the latest Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK) data.
November's imports grew 53.2% compared to October, when imports were up 7% on-year, again supported by increased intake from Europe.
The total average value/tonne of November's imports rose to $225/t from $217/t a year ago, TUIK data show.
