Europe, Canada drive Turkey's October scrap imports rise
Turkish scrap imports increased 7% year-on-year to 1.24 million tonnes in October. Imports from Europe and Canada offset the fall in supplies from the US and CIS, Kallanish notes from the latest Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK) data.
The average value of overall imports slipped to $229/tonne from $230/t a year ago, calculations from TUIK data show.
